Portugal Real Estate Market Sees A Hike in Foreign Investment

Portugal is known as the world’s best country in Europe for foreigners to live in and the top 20 country with the best quality of life. Lisbon and Porto, the main cities in Portugal, has seen a big boom in foreign investment. International corporations such as shared service centres of Adidas, Siemens, Bosch and Linde;  insurance service centre of BNP Paribas Cardif; IT centres of IBM and research and technology centre of Microsoft, to name a few have set up their operations in this region.

Other multinational corporations which are joining the bandwagon include Alphabet Inc’s Google and online shopping giant Amazon. The move would mean the creation of 500 tech jobs for highly- skilled Portuguese workers. Porto is now the seventh city in EMEA region in the growth of high-tech clusters, with 1,772 companies established in 2016 which represents a 32% growth versus in year 2012.
